Canada’s men’s national team has named their squad for the Copa America play-in against Trinidad and Tobago, and the program’s long-overdue youth movement is officially on.
Interim coach Mauro Biello has named a squad he calls “youngest squad since 2019,” with 22 of the 23 players under the age of 30.
Most notable are the names missing from the previous team who lost to Jamaica in the Concacaf Nations League quarter-finals in November: long-standing Canada captain and goalkeeper Milan Borjan, 36, who debuted for Canada in 2011 and guided the team through the 2022 World Cup, was not.
