Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Wednesday signed a law providing full disability benefits to Chicago police officers and firefighters struck by COVID-19 before vaccines were available.
Newly constructed homes in Illinois would be required to include the infrastructure needed for electric vehicle charging stations under a bill now on Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s desk.
Dan Eldridge said he hasn’t seen this level of business at his Des Plaines establishment since the panic buying that occurred immediately following the first COVID-19 outbreak in March 2020.
On top of the notification policy, the bill expands the definition of bullying to include “physical appearance, socioeconomic status, academic status, pregnancy, parenting status and homelessness.”
Judge Lindsay Jenkins said the government’s interest in protecting public safety outweighs any harm the laws might have on a person’s right to keep and bear arms.
