OSWEGO, IL One man is dead and a woman is injured after a motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Route 30 and Kendall Point Drive on Wednesday evening, according to police.
Oswego Police Department and Fire Protection District were called to the scene of the crash at around 6:10 p.m. There, officers took over from a witness who attempted to render aid to 31-year-old motorcyclist James Khawshaba, who later died from his injuries at a local hospital.
The driver of a Kia Optima was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Lorrie Lackland, 55, was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and failing to yield while turning left.

UTICA, Ill. Three people died after an unknown explosion was reported north of Starved Rock State Park. According to the Illinois State Police Department, the explosion happened around 7 p.m. Thursday, May 6 at the Illinois Route 178 Bridge over the Illinois River.
According to the Associated Press, the three people who died were male. LaSalle County Coroner Rich Ploch says the three died from injuries they received in the explosion, which had ignited from a black powder substance.
Black powder was the original gunpowder and can be used to make fireworks.
