Killing journalists is a war crime. There is not a single government or military in the world that is unaware of this fact. Press and media employees are meant to have immunity during military attacks, even in the extremely rare case that they are producing propaganda.
[UPDATED 03.11.2023] At least twenty-nibe Palestinian journalists and media workers have been killed, several have been injured and others are missing during on-going military operations between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) condemn the killings and continued attacks on journalists. The IFJ calls for an immediate investigation into their deaths.
