Imagining Black News Today

On view through May 27, 'Witness,' at WACO Theater Center, was curated by Tina Knowles Lawson and Genel Ambrose. The 14 featured artists explore themes of family, community and identity in their respective works.

An academic and practicing artist, Dr. Denise Ferreira da Silva’s work addresses the ethico-political challenges of the global present. She is the author of Toward a Global Idea of Race (2007), A Dívida Impagavel (2019), Unpayable Debt (forthcoming) and co-editor (with Paula Chakravartty) of Race, Empire, and the Crisis of the Subprime (2013).
