Punjab Weather Update: In a stark departure from the seasonal norms, severe cold has descended upon the northern regions of Punjab and Haryana, with temperatures plummeting well below the average. Simultaneously, Bihar is witnessing a notable decline in temperature, painting a wintry panorama across multiple states.

Punjab IMD Weather Update Today news: While people in Northern India are celebrating the new year with their loved ones under the shed of fog and cold waves, the India Meteorological Department has issued a warning related to weather along with an orange alert in 12 districts of the state.

Bihar is predicted to have sporadic heavy rainfall through today. The IMD projected that rain, thunderstorms, and lightning would occasionally bring heavy rain to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands through Thursday.

In addition, the weather agency said that today and tomorrow will likely see significant rainfall over Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, as well as over the northeast for the following three days before decreasing.

The IMD had earlier issued an orange alert for Telangana on Monday and Tuesday. Heavy rain warning has been issued in some districts of Sangareddy, the western part of Medak, and some parts of Jagitial, Karimnagar, Pedapalli, and adjoining areas.

The climate conditions are predicted to deliver light to moderate to widespread rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, to India's eastern area. The IMD stated in its bulletin that this weather pattern was expected to last from today till Thursday (September 7).
