The Solana-Beach based nonprofit Kingdom Builder Foundation gave $323,000 in grants last year for community programs ranging from providing food to offering tutoring to families in need throughout San Diego and around the world. The grants ranged from $1,000 to $20,000.
The foundation, which formed in 2007, is an outreach ministry of the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church.
The organizations that received 2020 grants included:
Casa de Amistad, a Solana Beach-based nonprofit that fosters the education and character development of underserved children, teens and their families, to expand the online tutoring program by hiring “hosts” to serve more students.

Foundation Matthew, an Escondido-based nonprofit that provides a community food pantry and food distribution, to improve client web intake/sign-in and website support.
