The Police Service Commission has approved the deployment of CP Beneth Igwe to the Federal Capital Territory, as the Commissioner in charge of the Command. CP Beneth was once a Deputy Commissioner of Police in the FCT Command. Igwe’s appointment is among 10 Commissioners of Police appointed and posted to State Commands of the federation by the commission. This was contained in a statement signed by Head, Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani in Abuja on Wednesday.

No fewer than four people were killed by gunmen on Monday even as they attacked Point of Sale (POS) operators in Imo State, South East Nigeria. The incident, SaharaReporters gathered, happened at Ohii junction located on the Owerri – Orlu Road. According to eyewitnesses, two of the victims were said to be policemen who were on duty in the area during the unfortunate attack. A video of the incident seen by SaharaReporters on Monday evening showed the lifeless bodies of the victims.
