As schools went online, food insecurity plans fell to the side

A new study examines the responses of child nutrition administrative agencies as schools across the United States moved to online learning or hybrid models due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Our study aims to gather information on how states, territories, and Washington, DC, communicated with jurisdictions effectively to provide time-sensitive information on school meal programs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Gabriella McLoughlin, research fellow at the Prevention Research Center and at the Implementation Science Center for Cancer Control at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
