SHANGHAI, Mar 27 (SMM) – Customs data on lead concentrate imports in January-February is as below.

SHANGHAI, Mar 24 (SMM) – In terms of exports, faltering consumption in the automobile and real estate markets across Japan, South Korea, Europe and the United States, combined with geopolitical conflicts, took a toll on China’s silicon metal exports.

SHANGHAI, Mar 21 (SMM) – Starting from March 10, Brazil has cancelled import tariffs on six products, including two types of steel products and aluminium plate/sheet.

SMM believes that the overall ore prices may drop slightly in March. At present, it is still difficult for downstream alloy factories to sell cargoes, and they are cautious about purchasing manganese ore.

SHANGHAI, Mar 21 (SMM) –Since last year, Russia has been China's main source of primary aluminum imports.

In February 2023, China imported 352,911 mt of titanium concentrate, a month-on-month increase of 10.2%, and a year-on-year increase of 28.32%.

The monthly average price of Australian manganese lumps stood at 48.27 yuan/mtu, up 2.64% MoM, versus 45.47 yuan/mtu for Gabonese lumps, up 3.79% MoM, and 37.72 yuan/mtu for South African semi-carbonate manganese ore, up 3.65% MoM.

As of Friday March 17, the SMM Imported Copper Concentrate Index (weekly) stood at $75.58/mt, $0.71/mt lower than March 10. During the week, copper concentrate spot transactions were quite active. There were multiple spot transactions of clean ore between mines and smelters with TCs of $73-74/mt, scheduled for shipment mostly in May and the second quarter.

According to customs data, China imported 87,800 mt of nickel hydrometallurgy intermediate products in December 2022, down 13% from the previous month.

SMM estimates that China imported 41,000 mt of copper semis in February, up 78.3% month-on-month and 13.1% year-on-year. The imports are estimated to total 64,000 mt from January to February, down 19% year-on-year.
