Srinagar, May 19: Even though temporary and in the middle of a pandemic, the Government has created nearly 70 posts of Medical Officers (MOs) which are going to include the Dental Surgeons for the first time in the last 12 years.
The posts have been created for the COVID hospitals that are going to come up in Srinagar as well as in Jammu keeping in view a surge in the COVID cases with existing hospitals facing pressure amid a dearth of manpower.
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Doctors Coordination at Committee(JKDCC) which is an amalgam of various doctors associations, today in a statement showed indignation against undue interference by revenue officials in day to day hospital affairs.
Dr M Y Tak Convenor JKDCC said, “administration has badly failed during this winter’s snowfall and got itself buried as the snow was not cleared from the roads, lanes and by-lanes for days together. This administrative apathy caused a lot of difficulty for doctors, paramedics and patients to reach hospitals and consequently, a disaster like the situation was palpable.”
