coalition agreement to perhaps make the fissures that are existing between the parties to make them come out into bigger rivets and perhaps pick off any waivers to try to pick them off to get them to change their minds and in his view to see the error of his ways. but that's the situation right now, but as the leader of the opposite said, in one week, within a week or so we could have the end of at least the current incarnation of the netanyahu era. >> elliott gotkine, many thanks. i got perspective on all of this from gill hoffman, chief political correspondent and analyst for the jerusalem post. i asked him if he thought this was the end of the road for benjamin netanyahu. >> nothing can stop them now. i really don't think that there's going to be someone who is going to rebel at the last minute. it's looking like lip peed will

At Christ's birth, 'the soul felt its worth' – Catholic Philly

Gina Christian By Gina Christian • Posted December 24, 2020 Several Advents ago, a priest gave me a somewhat unusual penance during confession. Rather than assigning me prayers to recite or Scripture verses to read, he advised me to reflect on a line from what happened to be my favorite Christmas carol: “O Holy Night (Cantique de Noël),” written by French composer Adolphe Adam (with lyrics by Placide Cappeau and, in English, by John Sullivan Dwight, who softened the original French text’s stern tone). “It captures what Christ’s birth truly means,” said the priest, and then quoted, “‘He appeared, and the soul felt its worth.’”

>> in may of 2019 the koch network rebranded with a new name, stand together. and in this incarnation, it says it's open to supporting democrats who are pro dreamers anti-tariff. no matter what the name and reported orientation, it is sure to remain a potent political force. >> after dozens of phone call, i'm basically striking out. >> okay. it's a no. okay, thanks. bye. so far it's not going so good. the reason so many members of congress probably don't want to talk about this is because money equals power in politics. and to bite the hand that feeds you is probably not a good proposition to the people who work in that building. conservative fund-raising giants like the kochs are committed to giving their side the edge. but they are not alone. if there is one thing that's bipartisan in washington, it's

thing. that god's presence is close to us so that we feel alone. the incarnation, what christians celebrate today is that god chooses to become human to actually enter the despair, enter the suffering, to show we're not alone in it. people sometimes think the dark naz dominates but we have examples of the light all around us. sometimes were she to look for it a little more, with a little bit more acuity, but it's there. >> i love that, what you just said. i'm going to carry that around with me all day long. what do you think on this day, what do you think is the most important part of the christmas story? that people need to hear right now? >> i think the most important part is that god becomes human, but not in a regal kind of way. this is a different kind of king. i mean, born in a stable. homeless. a refugee. i think to some some ways that no matter what your situation

in general for america. >> if you look at the manger scene, this is the big image of what christmas is. we think of this as an idyllic pleasant bespoke place but, in reality it was -- it was a stable. there were animals that were in the stable. they were looking for a hotel room. and of that is precisely the mass into which the son of god came. so if we reduce the idealism of christmas and emphasize its incarnation, which is what the feast is about, i think we can have a more realistic and holistic understanding of the meaning of christmas. >> charles: so is that

there's division everyone loves yoda. neil: very wise little guy. is it your sense though that disney can just leverage off of this, with the streaming service , everything else, another weapon in the arsenal? >> well that's the thing that yes, this incarnation of this maybe won't do as well as the first two but it doesn't matter because you now have the stream ing service and disney plus, and you have the mandalore an, bringing in a whole new generation of people interested in star wasnd and then the theme park rides. neil: why didn't george lucas go to the debut? >> again it's not the same star wars as it was years ago. but again you're bringing in a whole new fan base so three years from now there will be another star wars saga, but again, that's not where i think the future of star wars is. it isn't streaming, which everyone isn't streaming now. the future of all movies i think are. neil: it's already 25 million streaming customers now. yes, exactly. i mean, if you think about the properties that are there, what people are seeing there, disney

surrendering the role of congress giving out taxpayer money. congress decides, you know, how much money they authorize the $400 million, the secretary of state and secretary of defense certified that ukraine had passed all of the tests to prove that they were not corrupt. they could get that money. and the president unilaterally decided not to release it. and so senator ted cruz is comfortable with that scenario. surrendering his power in fwrs over to the president. >> i don't think he's making the decision at that level. i think you're too far into the weeds respectfully. i think, instead, it's a reflection of the strangle hold, the control that the president has on this incarnation of the republican party even in texas, right? that's increasingly purple. and ted cruz is concerned being on the wrong side of the fence. it was actually senator rubio who i think addressed

embrace hegel marks the sort of thing. who really do insist that basically they destroy the existing society to get to the problems land. >> we've heard that before. >> the modern incarnation of this, of this attitude and belief system, the progressives. this so-called democratic socialist, isn't this where they're dragging countries, are not dragging them where people want to go in these various countries. >> sure everybody was to go there provided they can go there without any personal inconvenience. me too. i'm not objecting to universal healthcare. >> it wouldn't work. >> it would work for me that's all i care about. and if you have 30 million other people is exactly same thing you will have a system exactly like the socialist system of france. which i must say did a great job on me.

partisan voice for the democratic party and can be counted upon to parent the party line, whether it's true or not. i thought the footage you have of them using the same phrases in response to the same stimuli, making the same assertions, being so blithely dismissive of 100 biden and joe biden participated in, as a sign of how the media has returned to its earlier incarnation of being simply a voice for a political force inside the united states. let's just be on it about it.or voices from the democratic parts and for the defeat, removal from office of president trump. >> sean: ari, you dealt with the media, how you, dana, sarah sanders, sean spicer do it, i tip my hat to you. i don't think i could deal with that, a lot of four letter words flying out at some point. >> let's take a look at the presidents here. donald trump says things that the press doesn't like to think about what just happened.
