Good evening im lucy noland. Im iain page. Lets get right out to fox 29s Shawnette Wilson live at the scene tonight as police try to piece together what happened. Shawnette . Reporter piece together is exactly right. Police say there are no cameras on this road. They dont have any witnesses but based on what they found so far, they do believe this car was lit on fire. I was shock. I was shock. When they said it was a vehicle fire i actually thought okay, well maybe there was something mechanically wrong with the vehicle. Reporter Bishop Conrad chambers works a mile and a half up the road from where police say they were called to a car fire around 3 30 this afternoon. But when firefighters arrived and put out the flames, they made a gruesome discovery. In the front drivers side of the vehicle they found a mail who was charred to the bone. Reporter crime scene investigators and homicide detectives immediately blocked off the road and began their work. Considering this a suspicious death.
A Business Owner headed to work. The victim says he identified himself as a narcotics officer. And when the victim became suspicious, he began to call the real police. Took out his phone, dials 911, with that the actor grabs the phone, takes the phone tells him he wants all the payroll money, puts him down on the ground and takes his house keys, his car keys a wallet with a large amount of cash in it. He produces a what he calls a semiautomatic weapon that has a black handle. Happened before 9 00 this morning in a parking lot behind the shop in the 800 block of main street. The man wasnt wearing a uniform. Instead, police say a black thermal shirt, blue jeans and they say the badge was silver and hung around his neck. If hes out there doing it and has a badge, this is Something Else thats going on. We have no other information from anywhere else that this has happened in the second place. Hope you all had a great weekend. I had a few days off last week. We missed ya. I realized on friday, oh, geez, i scheduled myself to work for our network up in midtown manhattan up in new york, right . So, thats how my saturday mornings started about 4 oclock in the morning and then i come out after work at 10 oclock and theyre having a sixth avenue street fair. Fun. They do it twice a year.
