Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has stated that changing the name of India to Bharat would be meaningless unless it brings benefits to the people. He criticized the BJP-led government for not fulfilling their promises, such as creating jobs and depositing Rs 15 lakh in bank accounts. Shivakumar argued that changing names will not solve problems; instead, there should be a focus on improving living conditions and implementing laws that benefit the people.
