India saw a single day rise of 702 cases of COVID-19, with the number of active cases of the infection rising to 4,097, the health ministry said today.
A total of 63 COVID-19 sub-variant JN.1 have been detected in the country. Goa reported the highest number of 34 COVID-19 sub-variant JN.1 cases in the country.
India recorded only 33 fresh coronavirus infections, the lowest amount since March 2020, and an active case of 1,606, with a death toll of 5,31,903. The Covid case tally reached 4.49 crore, while the national recovery rate was recorded at 98.81%. The number of people who have recovered from the virus surpasses 4,44,60,523, and the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18%.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya who had chaired a review meeting with with health ministers of all states and Union Territories asked them to stay alert and remain prepared for the management of the disease.
