The partially convertible rupee was trading at 79.1225 against the dollar by 0725 GMT, its strongest since July 7 and higher than Friday's close of 79.25.
Rupee appreciated 30 paise to 79.39 against the US dollar in opening trade on Friday, buoyed by fresh foreign fund inflows into capital markets and a firm trend in the domestic equities.
