The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), a financial educational institute under the ministry of commerce, has been ordered by the Delhi High Court last week, to comply with the central information commissioner (CIC)’s order of providing the voluminous information on various aspects of the financial expenditure of its director as well as of the institute to the right to information (RTI) applicant.

A cluster of applications filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, in the health ministry in 2022, regarding information on Covid-19 vaccine management and continuously denied by its central public information officer (CPIO) and first appellate authority (FAA) using exemption clauses of section 8, were unfortunately further sealed with the central information commissioner (CIC) supporting the denial of information, without any proof of material or discussion during the second hearing.

IRDAI: IRDAI probes Care Health's stock option issue to Saluja

IRDAI revealed that a probe into stock option allotment to Saluja is on in response to a query raised by Rahul Kanoj under the Right to Information Act (RTI) to the insurance regulator. The regulator said in its response, "The information sought is not furnished as the same would impede the process of investigation or apprehension." ET has seen IRDAIs response to the RTI query.
