In response to a Right to Information Act appeal, State Bank of India (SBI) has again refused to disclose the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the sale and redemption of electoral bonds. SBI justified the denial by stating that the information is held in "commercial confidence," constitutes the banks "intellectual property," and is intended solely for internal staff use.

Landfill study shows flawed detection methods, higher methane emissions in Illinois, other states

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys method of detecting methane leaks at landfills is flawed, and emissions of this powerful heat-trapping gas are likely much higher than what is being reported, according to a new study analyzing landfills in Illinois and seven other states.
