It’s Monday, but this week should fly by. Thanksgiving will be here before you know it, so you probably want to start thawing your bird. There are still many organizations collecting food for families, so consider dropping off a frozen turkey at Salvation Army, or something non-perishable in one of the many bins around town.

School is out in Carson City and the summer wasted no time in getting started with the fun stuff. Head down to Mills Park sometime this weekend to enjoy the Nevada State Fair, Rendezvous and Carnival. Carson Valley Days is an annual tradition for those who live in the Minden/Gardnerville area.

Get ready, the weekend is almost here and it brings with it the Way it Was Rodeo and Steampunk Ball to Virginia City, the Air Races to Reno, and the annual Edible Pedal bike ride through Washoe Valley. Before the weekend carries you away, enjoy our beautiful valley. Take in the views with Muscle Powered as they hike along Conestoga.

Carson City Court Appointed Special Advocates, also known as CASA, are trained volunteers who represent the best interests of children who have been abused or neglected. CASA volunteers are appointed by a Judge and serve as the voice of the child in the courtroom.
