Uisce Éireann is to begin carrying out works in Greystones to upgrade the pipework to some 28 properties in St Bridget’s Park and are expected to be finished by the end of July.

Works will commence this week in Ashford to replace an old, cast-iron water mains in Hawthorn Estate to provide a secure and safe water supply.

Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Wexford County Council, is replacing almost 1.5 km of aged water mains with new modern pipes in Curracloe. The project, which will commence next week, will provide a more reliable water supply, improve water quality, and reduce the amount of treated drinking water lost to leakage. Traffic in Greystones is expected to be disrupted for several months as Uisce Éireann undertakes works on Church Lane in the town in a bid to drive down leakage across the county and improve the water supply to homes and businesses.

Planning permission has been submitted for a new water treatment facility in East Cork, it was recently announced.
