A teenager from Stroud is heading for a career at sea after successfully completing his basic training.

Mike Howarth has taken on the role at HMS Dalriada in Govan. For just over four years Commander John Cunane has been in charge of the unit, but on June 30 formally handed over responsibility to Commander Howarth.
