Michael Skvarla was grabbing some milk at Walmart when he spotted a huge insect on the side of the building. It was quite a discovery.

The giant bug was found during a trip to Walmart in 2012: "I put it in my hand and did the rest of my shopping with it between my fingers. I got home...and promptly forgot about it for almost a decade."

A Polystoechotes punctata, or giant lacewing, plucked from the façade of an Arkansas Walmart by Penn State faculty member Michael Skvarla, is the first of its kind recorded in eastern North America in over 50 years — and the first record of the species ever in the state.
