CDWP clears Rs38bln development projects

ISLAMABAD: Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Thursday cleared 13 socioeconomic development projects with a total cost of Rs38 billion.
Projects related to education, energy, health, higher education, industries and commerce, physical planning and housing and water resources were considered in the meeting. Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Jehanzeb Khan and representatives from provincial governments participated in the meeting.
A project related to education presented in Gwadar worth Rs1.8 billion was approved in the meeting. The main objective of the project is to provide quality education to the residents of the area. Another project related to energy, “hiring of consultancy services for development of strategic underground gas storage” worth Rs1.8 billion was also approved.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that 10,000 sachets of 2-DG will be available in the market from Thursday (May 27).

The 2DG anti-COVID-19 drug by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has been priced at Rs 990 per sachet by Dr Reddy's lab. As per ANI, the Central and state government hospitals would be provided with the medicine at a discounted price.
2DG (2 Deoxy-D-glucose) anti-COVID-19 drug has been developed by the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS), a lab of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), in collaboration with Hyderabad-based pharma company Dr Reddy's Laboratories (DRL).
