The Indian army on Wednesday confirmed that about 23 soldiers were missing after a powerful flash flood caused by intense rainfall tore through a remote valley in the mountainous northeast Sikkim state, Aljazeera reports. A video released by an Indian army official showed a thick stream of furious brown water sweeping down a densely forested valley, washing away roads and ripping down power wires.
