What’s a lot of money to spend on a Chromebook? According to Samsung, it’s $600 or more. That’s the marker for what the Korean tech giant considers a “premium” Chromebook in the US, and the company says it sold a considerable 34% of all units priced above this amount last year.  Now, Samsung plans to test the limits of that $600 mark by introducing its latest premium Chromebook, the Galaxy Chromebook2, for slightly less. The Chromebook2 will go on sale for a starting price of $549, e...

January 7th, 2021 Im going to call it: Samsung makes the best-looking Chromebooks around. The company turned heads last CES with the Galaxy Chromebook — a razor thin, bright red convertible with a 4K OLED screen. Its other Galaxy laptops like the Book Flex series are also beautifully designed, with similarly sharp profiles and gorgeous colors. But in spite of its good looks, the Galaxy Chromebook suffered from atrocious battery life, due in large part to its 4K OLED screen. It also cost a who...

Samsung on Thursday took the lid off of a new Galaxy Chromebook 2, a follow up to the first Galaxy Chromebook. Only, instead of taking the high-road by offering best-in-class components and a price price tag that flirts with four figures, the Chromebook 2 takes a more modest approach.  The two-in-one laptop runs Googles Chrome OS operating system, with a healthy dose of Samsungs own Galaxy apps and services. It features a 13.3-inch QLED FHD display, up to 8GB of memory, and up to 128GB of stor...

Breaking it down Instead of looking at the Galaxy Chromebook 2 as a successor to the original, it’s better to look at this as sort of the “little brother”. The CB2 features a 13.3-inch touchscreen display, sporting an FHD resolution compared to the 4K panel found on the 2020 variant. This Chromebook also features a 2-in-1 design, meaning that you can fold it back and use the display by itself, before “unfolding” it and using the snazzy backlit keyboard like normal. Perhaps the real ex...

Samsung made its new Galaxy Chromebook 2 official this morning, deciding to kickstart all of next week’s CES activities. A look at this device was leaked back in December, with those past images being spot on. All you need to know about the Chromebook 2 is that it’s cheaper than the original at $550 and it comes in that super hot red color. Boom, the end. For specs, this Chromebook features a 13.3″ QLED touchscreen display that sounds awesome, Intel chips, up to 8GB RAM, up to 128GB stor...

(Pocket-lint) - Samsungs putting out news about plenty of new devices in the absence of an in-person CES this year, including the latest, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2. The new laptop follows up on the previous Galaxy Chromebook with some marked improvements. Firstly, its getting a key price cut. coming in at just $550 compared to the last models $1,000 price tag, a massive shift in market placement. The other big change comes in the form of a new display that sports Samsungs QLED tech at Ful...

Easy to expand RAM and storage Cons Plastic enclosure lacks polish A new contender in the desktop mini PC arena, the Azulle Byte4 ($224.99) is a slightly larger version of the Azulle Access4 we reviewed in September 2020. The Byte4 offers the same modest component lineup—Intel Celeron CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage—and is similarly underpowered. Neither machine is well-suited for anything approaching regular Windows use, but either can serve as a streaming device or as a way to a...

2 March 2021 Best cheap laptops under £500 Big laptop brands like HP, Dell, Lenovo and Acer all produce budget laptops. We reveal some of the best – and how to pick the perfect model. Michael Passingham View all False economy is rife in the world of laptops. We see plenty of cheap models that may look like a great deal, but simply fail to perform.  Of the laptops reviewed in the last year, the lowest score we gave to a sub-£300 laptop is 44% (making it a Don’t Buy). However, we’ve a...
