And the type of agency that ap and reuters are is sometimes hard for people to comprehend. When i was based in asia, i often had to explain that ap didnt stand for ...

I think that is an importantd point. It has auld happened. And will always happen. Gets one thing that is really encouraging even for this room is at least the younger at journalists and the journalists coming from the businesses ivee been meeting are amazingly intrepid and investigative and have tools that we dont have. Theyre really good at using social media. Theyre really good at searchind on the web and figuring out whats going weon. There are people working for vice and all sorts of ll org...

Starling is. If were just talking about the nsa, there are so many of them. And they are so technical, that i would be really surprised if the highlevel people know the details of more than a small number of the most major programs. I think you would be wrong about that. Yeah . I think so. Many could not perhaps describe the engineering details, but i would be surprised if there are more than a handful of programs that are not youre right, but there are i mean, impossible to count how many progr...

Also less known about you also is the work youve done in academia. While you were an adjunct at the Richmond Law School or whether you were at the Columbia Law School as a Senior Research scholar. This is it a row fou profoundly fascinating career and i think when you were sworn in, i couldnt improve on the word, a proven leader and faithful advocate for the American People. And with that welcome, thank you for being here. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you so much. And hang you, lad...

From its normative moral power abroad. I dont think that the United States wants to join cuba in becoming the only other countryr in the western hemisphere to have an imprisoned journalist. And thats whats at risk here. T it is much harder for the u. S. To be taken seriously when it advocates for press freedom and journalistic rights abroad when they are abridged at home. Governments have many obligations, to enforce the law, to protect citizens, to provente attacks. But they also have an obliga...

Make a wellinformed dialogue as part of those choices. Weve got to realize there is a wide range of opinions out there. The dialog represents multiple viewpoints. At its heart that is the strength of america. The idea that we can bring together lots of individuals with lots of different viewpoints and, yet, we can still remember who we are and what we are about. That is what makes me so proud to be the director of the National Security agency because i believe in its mission and its men and wome...
