u.s. color revolution. i m joined by cynthia mcfadden. russia, what are they doing in our election? well, i think that the reporting you just cited is very much on par with what we know from senior current u.s. intelligence officials who tell us the same thing. you have to go back a little bit here and understand that before donald trump was even the nominee, once hillary clinton announced, intelligence sources tell us, putin decided he was going to try to mess with the u.s. election. why? because back in september of 2011, when his party took power again and he became president, he felt that hillary clinton and the obama administration dissed him and he wanted to get even in some way so he decided that they would mess with this election. what about a guy who would ride around on a horse with a
committee. what do you believe? the challenge is, even when things are in the public domain, even when things are reported and obviously the press does a very complete job in ferreting out information, we re not able to confirm that information publicly. it s not enough just to say i can point to a public source. in terms of the merits of the debate that they were having, there is unfairness on both sides. for mr. rubio to make suggestions about the program that, in classified form he may know are incomplete or misleading, is a problem. it s equally a problem for mr. cruz to go in public and state things that may be very close-hold if not classified. so it s treacherous ground either way. should there be an investigation? i wouldn t say at this point that i can say that without, you know, examining just what was confirmed by intelligence sources, what has been stated publicly, what has been declassified, in effect. but i would be wary of opening an investigation in a political envi

analyst chuck nash. thank you so much for joining us. pleasure. so we were just talking about what jennifer was discussing there, and you know, we have the phone intercepts, we have the video of the alleged launcher. where do you think we need to go from here in terms of getting the evidence that we need to find out who s responsible? one of the things that we need to do is a full crash investigation. now, as you say, there s a lot of information that we know from intelligence sources. but we still have to do the basic hard work of collecting the physical evidence, and then following that evidence where it leads. we re going to find parts of the missiles, parts of the missile will have data plates on them. we ll be able to read that and follow it all the way back to almost the point of origin. probably to point of origin. now that may sound irrelevant to a lot of people because it s like, hey, we know the missile shot it down. the intel people have already told us that. but becau
to see leading into an investigation of a crash site and the wreckage, itself? yeah, good you asked that. people think of the normal thing, investigators get there, they chart the wreckage very carefully. they look for the black box recordings and so forth. and all that s important when it was a normal cause of an accident. in this case, missile shoot-down, it s a completely different ball game. i mean, all you really need to do is rule out that it s some other cause and that seems to be almost certain at this point that it was not that. and if you believe our intelligence sources so far, if we or somebody else has actual infrared satellite images of the missile being fired from the ground and later infrared image of the score, the hit on the airplane, well, there s your proof. you know, you don t need black
