The National State of Disaster has been extended for the last time until 15 March 2022. This follows a virtual Cabinet meeting that was held on Wednesday where the extension of the state of disaster was one of the issues under discussion.

Cabinet has approved another extension of the National Disaster – this time to 15 March.

During his State Of the Nation Address, President Cyril Ramaphosa said the state of disaster would come to an end as soon as other measures to contain the pandemic were finalised.
