The U.S. air force has suspended two commanders from the National Guard unit where accused classified intelligence leaker Jack Teixeira served, a USAF spokesman said on Wednesday.

Federal prosecutors want Jack Teixeira to remain in jail while he awaits trial.

The Air Force suspended two commanders of the 102nd Intelligence Support Squadron at Otis Air National Guard Base, Massachusetts, who oversaw accused intelligence leaker Jack Teixeira.

The evidence against Jack D. Teixeira, the Massachusetts Air National Guardsman accused of violating the Espionage Act by sharing classified information on the Internet, is “substantial and mounting” and he should remain locked up while awaiting trial, according to court documents filed late Wednesday in US District Court.

Leaders of the Air Force’s 102nd Intelligence Support Squadron have been suspended after an Airman allegedly leaked classified information.

The Department of Justice believes Jack Teixeira, the 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guardsman accused of leaking hundreds of classified documents, should remain detained as he awaits trial because he’s a “serious flight risk.”
