School District holds socially distanced annual meeting

The district held its annual meeting on Wednesday at Inter-Lakes Middle High School with a number of different steps to allow for social distancing.
Attendees first stopped at a station to get their temperatures checked and answer basic questions about symptoms, exposure, and recent travel. Voters were then directed to the gym to check in with the supervisors of the checklist from their respective towns and receive their ballots.
Masks were required for entry into the building.
Some contested races on Meredith ballot
March 03, 2021REGION A number of local elections have some contested races while a number of incumbents are running uncontested for reelection.
Election day in Meredith and Center harbor is on Tuesday, March 9 while Moultonborough and Sandwich have rescheduled their elections for a later date going with a governor s emergency order. Moultonborough voters will take to the polls on May 11 and Sandwich will vote on April 13.
In Meredith, three people are seeking two open seats on the board of selectmen: Michael Laurent, Lynn Leighton, and incumbent Jeanie Forrester.
The rest are uncontested. Four people are running for four open seats for library trustees: Vivien Mitchell is running along with incumbents Ann Butler, Paul Eldridge, and Jonathan James.
