The year has begun positively for Mangaluru’s startup ecosystem. Following the success of Emerge-2024, organised as part of the Tapasya Beach Festival, Mangaluru city is now preparing for the upcoming event, ‘Build From Mangaluru’. Anup Pai, founder of eSamudaay, a network of software nodes connected on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) protocol said ‘Build from Mangaluru’ is a unique local-first startup accelerator programme on the District Digital Economy Network or DISDECO.
India’s first beachside startup fest, Emerge-2024, will be held from Feb 16 to 18 at Tannirbhavi Beach in Mangaluru. The event aims to unite the startup ecosystem and showcase the distinct approaches of incubation and enabling centers. With a focus on AI, IPR, and technology transfer, the fest will feature presentations, an ideathon, and a triathlon. The top 25 ideas will receive a prize of Rs 1 lakh. The event is organized by Tapasya beach festival and supported by IFIA Bharat, International Startup Foundation, and the Principal Scientific Advisor of the Union government.
