World Bank: World Bank launches comprehensive programme to combat air pollution crisis in India

The World Bank has initiated a comprehensive program to address India s severe air pollution crisis, targeting the impact of ambient particulate matter (PM)2.5 pollution on its 1.4 billion population. The program includes the introduction of airshed management tools, development of State-wide Air Quality Action Plans, and creation of the first extensive Regional Airshed Action Plan for the Indo-Gangetic Plains (IGP).
