Subscriber only The Officer-in-Charge of Rockhampton Station, Senior Sergeant Hanlen has found that her strength lies in working with people, which is an ideal skill to have when you are the boss of around 50 police officers and 10 administrative staff in a busy regional centre. It was almost by chance that Senior Sergeant Hanlen even came to policing. Unhappy with her choice of teaching as a career, she was 18-years-old and at a loose end when a family member challenged her to give policing a go. An event she experienced during the application process convinced her she'd found the right path.

On International Women's Day, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced the launch of Super-75 scholarship scheme to support the education of meritorious girls from poor families, so that they can excel in streams like medicine, engineering, ITI (Industrial training institutes) and humanity and contribute to nation-building.
This is keeping in view of this year's theme of International Women's Day i.e "Choose to Challenge" and to celebrate Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav- India@75.

Every year March 8 marks International Women’s Day across the world. The day is dedicated to honour the achievements of women across different fields and to push for gender equality. The event, which has its roots in the early 1900s socialist feminist movements, is now recognised and celebrated across different parts of the world. The global day celebrates the social, economical, cultural and political achievements of women. Celebrated annually on March 08, the theme for this year was #ChooseToChallenge, which emphasises how we can all choose to challenge inequality and gender bias.

Australia's songwriting community chose this day to announce Reddy would be posthumously honoured at the 2021 APRA Awards next month with the prestigious Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music.
