Illinois State Police released a video from an officer-involved shooting that occurred May 9, which left a New Mexico man dead and an officer injured.

“It’s helpful to elicit feedback from the people who live there, it’s their reality.”

An “altercation occurred and the male suspect displayed a firearm,” police said.

The incident occurred along Interstate-64 at mile marker 72 at 3 a.m. Tuesday near Mount Vernon.

“Please plan ahead, expect delays, obey all signage and consider an alternate route for your specific trip,” the state transportation department said.

It happened between the West Huntington and 5th Street exits.

VDOT crews will be paving two exit ramps near the diverging diamond at the Interstate 64 and Route 250 interchange Tuesday, April 18.

Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash in Albemarle County. Albert F. Putnam IV of Keswick died at the scene.

Investigators say one tractor-trailer driver rear-ended the other semi.
