First responders found deceased Justin Hardesty, 30, trapped inside his vehicle after crashing into a semi Thursday on Ind. 10, the Jasper County Sheriffs Office said.

A Ford truck rear-ended a Subaru on Monday morning with such force that it collided into two more vehicles, causing life-threatening injuries to a 4-year-old, Indiana State Police said.

"Cleanup at the scene was continuing into and through the rush hour as the tow company had to offload the contents of the trailer into another trailer," police said.

The Alabama State Troopers said the interstate was closed just before 8:30 p.m. Feb. 16.

The state troopers said the deceased person is from Warrior.

"Its a project the Indiana Department of Transportation is not going to be pursuing, they tell me," said state Sen. Rick Niemeyer, R-Lowell.

The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to reopen Interstate 70 westbound through the North Split interchange in Indianapolis this weekend.

The highway is expected to remain closed through at least noon and motorists are advised to find alternative routes.

Two separate crashes have blocked all lanes on Interstate 65 northbound in Hobart and southbound in Dinwiddie, the Indiana Department of Transportation is reporting.
