The Alabama Department of Transportation began a bridge widening project on Interstate 85 Tuesday that will last until August 2024.

Three people were killed in a crash Friday on Interstate 85 when a wrong-way driver hit another vehicle head-on, according to troopers.

It happened in Graham around 1:50 a.m. Friday on Interstate 85 near Jimmie Kerr Road in Alamance County.

It happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday. The crash involved a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer.

Officials stated that it happened on mile marker 95 heading north.

The overnight crash happened around 5 a.m. on Interstate 85 South, near mile marker 126 in Guilford County. That is near the exit for Highway 421.
