“We’ve made the best out of a bad situation” Grace Vo-Edwards, a member of the prom committee says.
After receiving word about a virtual graduation ceremony, students at Sir Fredrick Banting Secondary School are still hoping to have an in-person prom celebration this year.
The graduating students should still be able to walk across the stage to receive their diploma at the end of the year. Depending on the state of the pandemic, the school is planning on pre-recording the ceremony and celebrating via livestream.

“If we’re not going to school for the rest of the year, we can’t walk across the stage. But we can still purchase the gown and go on our own time to take photos, which I’m most excited for” Ionna Hopper, grade 12 student and head of the prom committee says.
