ALGONA Eighth-ranked Bishop Garrigan moved into the Christmas break with an overall record of 9-1 with the latest victory a 71-41 win over the North Iowa Lady Bison.
The black-and-gold is tied for the Top of Iowa Conference lead at 6-0 with Forest City with their only loss coming at Class 1A state runner-up Newell-Fonda.
ALGONA Seventh-ranked Bishop Garrigan remained unbeaten in Top of Iowa Conference girls’ basketball play on Tuesday, Dec. 12 with a 66-23 victory over the Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Cardinals.
The black-and-gold improved to 6-1 overall and is 4-0 in league play while the Cardinals fell to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in the conference.
ARMSTRONG Being on the road for a Top of Iowa Conference girls’ basketball contest on Friday, Dec. 15, eighth-ranked Bishop Garrigan earned a 65-30 victory over the North Union Warriors.
The black-and-gold raced out to a 21-6 advantage after the game’s first eight minutes of play. The visitors also led 35-16 at halftime and enjoyed a 53-26 lead heading into the fourth quarter of play.

Freshman Michael Joyce poured in a game-high 20 points closely followed by senior Logan Nemmers with 19 points and sophomore Carter Schwab added 18 points.
