Harlan Wittkopf was honored at a banquet celebrating his 50th anniversary of receiving the Juris Doctor degree from the Iowa College of Law in 1973. The event was held in conjunction with the recent Iowa Homecoming and each of the 18 attendees gave a short talk. Herky the Hawkeye was there and congratulated Wittkopf on his international recognition as an author. Wittkopf was the first Judicial Magistrate of Kossuth County, a position he held until 1978.
“Homecoming is an institution-wide event that expands beyond the walls of campus out into the greater Iowa City community,” UI senior Matt McDonnell told The Gazette, as executive director of the Iowa Homecoming Council.
