It was a busy day yesterday as storms turned into severe weather. Several funnel clouds and tornadoes were spotted across eastern iowa. The National Weather Service Reports a brief tornado touchdown that happened in Hardin County triggering warnings in grundy, butler, tama, bremer and marshall counties. A tornado was also reported near Grundy Center in grundy county. While it does sound strange to talk about tornado touchdowns in november, they happen in iowa more often than you think. The National Weather Service Tells Us 41 tornados have touched down in november here in iowa over the last 35 years. But more than half of those fell on just two days. Last year, 19 touched d iowa on november 11th. And another dozen hit iowa during an outbreak in 2005.
