WHEN a police patrol pulled over a vehicle just before 3am they did not count on getting some free legal advice from a tradie who had left an Ipswich hotel.
The tradesman told the police he âknew the Australian constitutionâ during a drunken tirade that resulted in him being arrested.
An Ipswich court heard that Dylan Hearps walked towards the police at the stopped car yelling, âstop those f ing c ts. Get those c ts.â
Prosecutor Sergeant Paul Caldwell said Hearps then ran towards the police calling out: âLeave them alone. They havenât done anything. Just leave them alone.â

A DAD charged with keeping a baton in his car argued that he should have the right to defend himself and his children if attacked.
Bruce Malcolm said people âcould do more damage with a spoonâ than the baton the was the subject of the charge heard at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Prosecutor Sergeant Paul Caldwell said Malcolm told police officers the extendible baton was, âto protect me from Sudanese who try to steal my carâ. Bruce James Malcolm, 41, a landscaper from Dinmore, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a restricted item at Bundamba on February 20.
