With the help of several esteemed international musicians, the Pacific Chamber Orchestra is to perform a rare progression of selections by famed composer Johann Sebastian Bach at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore.

"Z is for … ZOMBIE: An Improvised Zombie Apocalypse!" is the next show on tap for Synergy Theater at Walnut Creek's Lesher Center for the Arts. In this completely improvised full-length play running Oct. 19-29, no one in town knows who is still human and who has become a zombie — not even the cast!

Proceeds from the Sept. 20 show in the tour by the 40-piece Beatles Guitar Project will support music scholarships and education.

Concord's downtown aRt Cottage will show the food-inspired and colorful works Sept. 6 through Oct. 27.

The Zmed siblings will perform the songs of the legendary act who inspired decades of music.
