St Helens mum comes to the aid of man after vicious robbery

A MUM was forced to slam on her brakes after she nearly ran over a man who had been attacked and left in the middle of a road. Antonia Kelly was driving up to Islands Brow when she spotted a man in his 40s lying bloodied and battered in the road on Wednesday, July, 14. She said when she stopped her car to get out and help, she spotted a man in his mid-20s at the side of the road. Antonia, 26, who works as a florist, told the Star: “I came around the corner and saw him lying in front of the road so I slammed on and jumped out the car.

Some of the road closures in place in St Helens this week

The closure will be outside number 10 Bradlegh Close. It will be in place from Monday, February 1 until Friday, February 12. Green Leach Lane Green Leach Lane will be closed at the East Lancashire Road, from this evening Tuesday, February 2, for approximately three nights, from 7pm through to 6am each night. There will be no right turn in and out of Green Leach Lane due to carriageway resurfacing works. Islands Brow A closure of Islands Brow at the railway bridge is in place this week. The closure, which started on Monday, is to enable the replacement of manholes on the carriageway. This will be in place until Sunday, February 7.
