most of whom are serving life prison sentences and did it in a way that s true to what our system is supposed to be. meanwhile, in guantanamo bay, not one person has gone to trial. some years ago when i first became the u.s. attorney, we were supposed to try ka leak sheikh mohammed here and that got derailed by people above my pay grade for political reasons and those people still have not been brought to justice. i don t think that s good for the rule of law ultimately. it s important to underscore what you re saying. we have taken this enormous public relations beating all over the world for guantanamo and what you re pointing out is nobody ever gets convicted in guantanamo. so it seems like a terrible tradeoff where we have this huge public relations disaster and yet there s no benefit. there s no benefit in terms of getting justice done and getting closure on a case. the last person who was tried in guantanamo bay was a guy who was
able to connect in some way and present his case in the court of public opinion. however, a mueller s style seemed to be over the past several months and may when he took over the post of special counsel, it s almost being different from what s happening in the mainstream media. and as the indictments have shown you in the past week, as the guilty plea has been showing you this past week and all the delays in which the media finds out about his team, you really see he probably is ignoring even this plea through court of public opinion. so that court of public opinion, i m so glad you brought that up. let s look at in new washington post bc poll which shows more than half of the people approve of the investigation and more think it s likely than not likely that the president committed a crime. so what does this mean for the president? well, clearly that means that the president would put himself in danger if he were to try to

that that then becomes something that congress can think about with respect to impeachment. i m not saying it s impeachable but for congress and the how representatives to take action, they don t have to show that every element of a particular statute was met in order to vote for articles of impeachment. mike hayden, you say that the tragedy here is that whether or not there s collusion, there s been kind of a lot of stupidity in the way in which the president has handled this, welcoming the wikileaks stuff and things like that. exactly. perhaps all the russians needed was to do what he did during the campaign with regard to highlighting wikileaks, i love wikileaks, and using wikileaks as a campaign tool. to come back to what happened this past weekend with regard to mr. papadopoulos, you know, obviously the legal case here is
