Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been allowed to deduct Rs 77 lakh paid to Tata Sons for the use of the Tata name and logo as a business expense, lowering its taxable profits. TCS argued that the payment was for the use of shared resources and services provided by Tata Sons to boost the image and sales of TCS and other group companies. TCS had faced tax litigation in the past on this issue, but the matter was decided in its favor.
