MANILA - The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Thursday said it has filed criminal cases against Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) founder Jose Maria "Joma" Sison and some of its ranking members allegedly behind an attack on mining sites in Isabela in October 2015. "Investigators of CIDG Santiago City Field Unit (CFU) filed a complaint about a violation of Section 4 paragraph a (4) of RA (Republic Act) No. 9851, also known as "Philippine Act on Crime Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide, and Other Crimes Against Humanity," and Section 4 (b) of RA No. 11479 or the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020," CIDG chief Maj. LEGAZPI CITY - Around 25 former rebels (FRs) are now undergoing livelihood skills training at the 4th Mobile Force Platoon headquarters in Nabua, Camarines Sur as part of their preparation for reintegration into mainstream society. In an interview on Thursday, Maj. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) spokesperson, said the training is conducted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-Bicol and includes a workshop on assembling electronic products. The training given to the former Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA) members is part of the government's Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), she noted. "E-CLIP is a program of the government that aims to give direction and assistance to those who want to go back to the folds of the law," Calubaquib said. She said the FRs will become productive members of the community through the new skills and additional knowledge they will acquire. &
