Mark Anthony Tito, the Army's 10th Infantry Division spokesperson, said the surrenderers were members of NPA's Regional Operations Command Southern Mindanao Regional Committee. The four yielded to the Army's 66th Infantry Battalion (IB) in Barangay Coronobe, Maragusan, Davao de Oro, Wednesday, Tito said in a statement. Tito identified only two of the four through their aliases: Jomari,18, a squad political guide, and Vina, 19, a squad supply officer. ZAMBOANGA CITY - Two New People's Army (NPA) couriers surrendered and have pledged allegiance to the government in the Zamboanga del Sur, a top police official said Monday. Col. Diomarie Albarico, provincial police director, identified the NPA surrenderers as Emeliana Ansegue and Melvin Gose. They both surrendered last Friday afternoon in Barangay Lower Landing, Dumingag town. Albarico said Ansegue is the chairperson of the Barrio Revolutionary Committee (BRC) while Gose is a member of the same rebel unit in Barangay Dilud, Dumingag. The BRC is under the Front Committee Big Beautiful Country of the NPA's Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee.
