The world last month lost an intelligence specialist, a man of "character and integrity," and a man who "made the world brighter," the Rev. Christopher Malatesta said.
The chief of public affairs for the 439th Airlift Wing, based at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, said Galliher is due to arrive at about 12:45 p.m. Friday.
The military announced late Wednesday it was grounding all of its Osprey V-22 helicopters, one week after Pittsfield native Jacob Galliher and seven other Air Force Special Operations Command service members died in a crash off the coast of Japan.
