In the sprawling Grove Hill Cemetery on the outskirts of Dallas, four matching slabs mark the resting places of the Adkisson family. Each granite rectangle bears the name of one of four brothers who died between 1984 and 1993: David, Mike (“In a Better Place”), Chris (“Peace at last”), and Kerry (“Walking with His Brothers”). The oldest was 33, the youngest just 21.
