Jack Florence was found with the canister in the communal hallway of a block of flats on Catherine Street in Aberdeen. The 27-year-old told officers he had the item for protection and did not know it was illegal. Fiscal depute Felicity Merson told Aberdeen Sheriff Court: “At 5pm on March 13 2018 uniformed police officers were making unrelated inquiries when they saw the accused in the company of two others descending stairs.”
